Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. BMW 3 Series

Although the base Mercedes-Benz C 300 and entry-level BMW 320i are powered by a similar turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine and offer a combined fuel economy rating of 28 mpg, the C 300 gives off more power. With the C 300, you can expect 241 hp and an astounding 273 Ib-ft of torque. The 2.0L engine on the 320i is only capable of generating 180 hp and 200 Ib-ft of torque.

In addition, only the C-Class can be furnished with the revolutionary 4MATIC® all-wheel drive system which integrates with the Electronic Stability Program® to make driving in corners and slippery conditions a breeze. The AMG® high-performance engines and performance features are only available on the C-Class as well.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series feature a variety of standard features including 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, HD radio™, and Bluetooth®* phone and audio connectivity. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class triumphs the BMW 3-Series in the safety department. In addition to the airbags, stability and traction control, and antilock brakes that are also found on the BMW 3-Series, the C-Class was designed with Collision Prevention Assist Plus. This Mercedes-Benz exclusive system can warn you of an imminent accident and apply the brakes autonomously in order to prevent it from occurring or reduce the severity of the impact.

ATTENTION ASSIST® is another standard safety feature that can only be found on the C-Class. It continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior to provide you with visual and audible warnings in the event that you get drowsy on a lengthy road trip. Crosswind Assist, PRESAFE®, and Brake Assist® are standard and unique on all C-Class models as well.
