What is Mercedes-Benz PRESAFE®?

When Mercedes-Benz PRESAFE® senses instability associated with an imminent collision or rollover, it springs into action. This system helps prepare the cabin for an impact by closing the windows/sunroof, tightening the front seatbelts, and adjusting the front seats. How Does the PRESAFE® Mercedes-Benz System Work?

When a potential accident is detected, PRESAFE® takes the following actions to help keep you and your passengers from harm:

• Adjusts the front head restraints for the best possible protection from injuries.
• Closes the sunroof to prevent debris from entering the cabin.
• Increases tension in the front safety belts to ensure they’re secure.

Some of the newer Mercedes-Benz models, such as the E-Class and S-Class, include PRESAFE® Sound. This is an extension of Mercedes-Benz PRESAFE® and emits a “pink noise” via the audio system to help protect your hearing. It activates when the standard PRESAFE® system does.
